We are a Christian family-owned business. That doesn't make us perfect by any means. It only means that we strive to be honest, fair and up front in all we do. We believe real estate agents, homebuyers and sellers and our landlords and tenants are part of our mission field and we can do nothing more important than serving them and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with them. Making money is not our first goal. Instead, our goal is to be an example of Christ in all we do as we make an honorable living and provide for our families.
J. D. and wife Brittany own and operate the Sales and Property Management Divisions of Inman Realty Group, LLC. Nancy Garrett has recently retired from the property management division but still works in sales and provides office support for other agens as well.
J. D. earned his Masters Degree from Loma Linda University and worked over 10 years in the healthcare industry as a physical therapist and in corporate America as Orthopedic Services Director for a national home health service. Feeling frustrated by the corporate world, J. D. looked back at a familiar self-employed business model and decided to go into real estate sales as his mother had done when he was in high school. Unsatisfied with the "big box" model and equally disappointed with the alternative small office brokerages, Nancy said, "Let's open our own company."
With Nancy as its principle broker, Inman Realty Group began in January 2005 in a tiny little house in Franklin. Growing very slowly, the first year's focus was on getting policy and procedures in place and laying the groundwork for growth. At the peak of the real estate boom in 2007, 47 real estate agents were calling IRG home. J. D. purchased a historic home that was zoned “office residential” in down town Franklin that served as our home office for seven years. Today, our home is our office. We are located at 4020 Clovercroft Road in Franklin.
We are totally paperless and take advantage of all the technologies at our disposal. We were the first agency in the State of Tennessee to be audited by TREC in a fully paperless audit. We have never been fined or cited for any TREC violations and we pride ourselves on our office organization, virtual office HUB and our low office overhead costs which translates at closing to more commission dollars to all of our agents, ourselves included. While many offices closed their doors or consolidated in the recent economic downturn, we continued to list and sell homes but shifted our focus to the demands of the market … thus our property management division was born. And some of our agents focused on short sales and foreclosures … whatever the need … we provided the service. Our business today continues to grow and our future is bright.
We have been approached by some of the big boys in the brokerage business trying to sell us on their multi-level or referral business model. We however are convinced more than ever that real estate is a people business and requires a trust relationship between buyers, sellers and their REALTOR, not name brand offices or referral contracts. We prefer to work with people we know and who know and trust us. Instead of generating relationships out of referrals, our referrals are generated out of existing relationships.
